White iPhone 4... Fashionably Late !!!

If you Google the term iPhone 4, you get more than 262 Million hits, similarly if you Google the term White iPhone 4 you get more than 74.4 Million hits!!! This number is bound to support one fact: The iPhone 4 attracts a LOT of attention.

Anytime Apple or a renowned authority on anything iPhone related makes an announcement, it is sure to make headlines in the tech world. One such announcement has been on the tech world’s radar for quite a while now. Following many speculations, rumors and false confirmations, since the time the iPhone 4 was released, it has now been allegedly confirmed that the WHITE variant of the iPhone 4 is finally scheduled to be released.

Apple has been notorious in its marketing tactics from the early days, always making the consumer wait for a highly anticipated product or gadget. Resting on the ideology that “good things come to those who wait”, Apple has often been accused of saving the best for later. Although many sources have associated the delayed release of the White iPhone 4 with various different reasons, the marketing ploy is claimed to be one of them. Another very popular version has been that Apple had not been able figure out the nitty gritties of the manufacturing up until now. Well, whatever the actual truth, the good news is that Apple has now finally decided not to keep its anxious consumers waiting any longer.

The first and only carrier to claim that it will be selling white versions of the iPhone 4 is Vodafone UK. At this time this denotes that there will still be a serious shortage of the White iPhones in the global market unless other major carriers quickly follow suit. This also implies that consumers in Pakistan will surely have to pay a premium to acquire one as an early adapter.

Also one thing to keep in mind is that now a lot more altered iPhones with their casings replaced with generic white versions will be sold as original. So if you find yourself attracted to the white variant and are planning on purchasing one after release, please be mindful of the knockoff versions and purchase one only after careful inspection and from a trustworthy seller. These counterfeit versions have been selling in Pakistan for quite some time now and the quality knockoffs will be hard to spot.

In any case, the appeal of a hard to acquire white iPhone 4 will be higher than the standard model and to some worth the wait and the extra premium. The reality of how the iPhone consumer market responds will be known next week when the phones are actually released and verdict on whether the wait was worth it will strictly be a judgment call.
